PC [Digital Code]. PS3 Digital Code. PS4 Digital Code. Unlike Skyrim and it’s wonderful freedom of movement, you were always aware that you were in a maze This game is fantastic, with minor issues just like every game in existence. So I have been reading a lot of reviews, and some of the things that people are complaining about don’t really make sense to me. People are very upset by the whole non-automatic attack thing, but since I usually play with a bow in Skyrim, DA:I is just not as bad as people are making it seem.
It was a very steep learning curve for me going from playing DA:Origins earlier today to this, as far as the combat style is concerned, but after a few disastrous first battles it pretty much smoothed out. I played through it once then went back to Origins.
I love that this game combines what I loved about Origins companion banter, mages kicking ass, all the lore and what I love about Skyrim open world, more crafting type stuff, you can accidentally run into something you’re totally not prepared for and get slaughtered or you can come across something really cool.
I like also that it got rid of some of Origins’ slogging through huge dungeons that are just like, 20 darkspawn, walk a few feet, 20 more, etc, etc. Instead you get smaller bands, but they use armor more efficiently or whatnot, so usually the battles are actually better to me than they were in Origins. As far as the camera controls, I agree that the tactical camera doesn’t zoom out far enough, so I just haven’t used it.
I haven’t really felt the need to micromanage yet I usually reserve that for replays, for right now I’m just trying to focus on how to both attack and close rifts at the same time , so it hasn’t really affected me. As far as the rest of the camera controls, they seem fine to me. I don’t find it difficult to use the right mouse button to control angle at all, so I’m not sure why people seem to have such a problem with it.
One thing to be aware of, at least for me when I was designing my character it was a lot darker in the creation mode than it is in the real world, so what I thought was a perfectly natural looking, fair skinned character, came out a pale as death alien prostitute. I am not willing to go back and restart, though, so it is what it is. Next time I would probably change the lighting before starting a new game. Overall, I really like this game so far.
I have been playing for about 8 hours and I can already tell that there are tons of things I’ve already come across that I will want to go back and do. There are tons of characters to get to know, and the possibility of opening up more dialogue options further on in the game as you add inquisition perks, so yeah, if I didn’t have lecture tomorrow I would definitely play through the night, and it’s a good thing this game came out after midterms but so far before final exams : PS – I have seen some people complaining about cutscenes stuttering, long loading times, etc, and I think that that is just their systems.
I have had no problems whatsoever other than occasional tasks not marking as complete, but that fixes itself if I go into the journal then back out into the world. I am notoriously terrible saving once every four hours or so , my computer just restarted itself and after that I went right back and did exactly what I had tried to do before and it worked fine.
So, anyway, on to the more interesting stuff. As I’ve gone on I’ve found that the controls are really not bad at all. I’m not sure exactly what is causing people to have fits. I find that I am easily able to walk and turn and keep the camera moving all at the same time. That said, I can see how it would be difficult in melee combat. I play as a mage, so it’s not really an issue for me.
I have terrible coordination when it comes to melee though a controller would not improve that for me, the few times I have tried console games I end up helplessly staring at the ground, running into walls, jumping in place, and generally getting murdered every five seconds – so it may be a personal problem , so the whole no auto-attack thing would be a huge problem for me if I played as a melee character.
But I don’t, and the team AI is quite good, and in tactical camera view you can set things to auto attack. Mentioning the tactical camera view – I have used this a few times now, and there are things I really like about it and things I don’t.
So it doesn’t zoom out far enough to get a true top down sense of the battle BUT you can adjust the camera angle. So while you can’t actually really plan a nice assault from a bird’s eye perspective, you can still use it if you want to micromanage instead of relying on AI. I like that when you go to the tactical view, it automatically pauses though you can change that in settings if you don’t like it , and you can actually order characters to auto attack in that mode pretty quickly via the old click companion icon then click enemy.
You can also tell characters to move to a location, to take a potion, to use an ability, so really it is just like how Origins combat is always, but you just can’t zoom out quite far enough. I have to admit the having to be right on top of loot to get it and the pause to bend down and get it is getting a bit old, but it’s realistic.
Other this game is an absolute blast. I play it in every free moment I have and judging by my number of skipped classes this week, many I don’t have. I have been playing for 30 hours and I still have many major companion quests left, new regions to discover, and at least two very major storyline quests left and I am certain it will actually be more than that, and that each of those will have many many subplots. I have tons of collections to finish and I haven’t even really begun to explore the crafting part of the game.
I have yet to kill a dragon there are at least 10 in the game according to some online reviews – I have tried, I have just failed each time and decided I needed to level up more :. So yeah, amazing amazing amazing amount of content. And on replay there is at least one huge early game decision that I think would create an entirely different story, so I have no doubt that if I could bring myself to side with the other side unlikely I would have an entirely different experience.
It is quite tedious, but trust me, you’ll eventually want to craft something or get a requisition or something and be like, man, I was in an area with tons of that stuff but I don’t really want to go back.
Also you can get really really good weapons, armor, upgrades, etc, from the most random of places. If a place looks difficult to get to, there’s probably something worthwhile there. I have been playing with pretty much just Blackwall, Sera, and the Iron Bull in my party for the last 10 hours or so and they are still spouting out new comments that make me literally laugh out loud Get to Skyhold as soon as possible.
I won’t explain what that is since I don’t want to spoil things, but if you want to know, you can look it up. But basically just know that the first few major quests and all that are boring compared to the world after them to me, at least. Talk to your companions after you recruit them. Otherwise they will later complain at you about it. Also you will build up a bunch of cutscenes that you will have to go through before you can actually ask them anything.
I didn’t talk to one character until quite a while after I recruited him and I ended up spending about 20 minutes initiating dialogue, going through a cutscene, then having to leave the conversation and immediately repeat the cycle.
Listen to what the random NPCs are saying around you. You might not be able to talk to as many people as in Origins, but what they are saying to each other is often really interesting. See all reviews. Top reviews from other countries. I put 3 stars because I couldn’t install it because the code of the game is already taken and EA is not able to do anything so I was unable to use it.
I send a mail to the vendor but never replied. But a good thing that I was able to return it with Amazon to have refound. Report abuse. Adored every second of this game. I liked it but never finished the game. I dont know if i got bored or too busy when the game came out. But for sure it wasn’t appealing enough to finish the game when I got more time later.
One of the best purchases I have made. Primarily because I have a strange attraction to owning physical copies of games. Superb third act to an excellent franchise. Well done Bioware! Back at your base, the inquisitor can have conversations with each companion and learn more about his or her backstory, philosophy of life, etc. This leads to a feeling of closeness to many if not all of the companions as the Inquisitor learns about them and earns their friendship.
In addition, there are 3 advisors that do not go on missions with rare exceptions but who mind the War Table. These advisors can also be conversed with in the keep. Most of the companions and advisors are romanceable, but not all of them can be romanced by each Inquisitor.
For example, Solas male elf will only enter a romance with a female elf, while Iron Bull male Qunari will romance any race and sex, and Dorian and Cassandra male and female humans, respectively only like men. There is at least one romance option for every preference. Not all of them end happily, though. The companions in this game are probably the most fleshed out and realistic bunch of NPCs in the Dragon Age franchise and you are pretty much guaranteed to become attached to at least a few of them.
My Inquisitor habitually took Solas, Dorian and Cassandra out adventuring, but it’s great to mix up the group just to hear all of the hilarious party banter.
All of the companions are interesting and have different points of view that they aren’t shy about sharing. The voice actors are all amazing and imbue the characters with real heart and emotions. Some of them may make you cry. I spent hours on one playthrough, so I definitely feel as though I’ve gotten my money’s worth. I didn’t feel the need to go back and replay the game though.
I attribute this to weariness from picking so many darn flowers, but if you are less OCD than me and can walk blithely past a stand of elfroot without blinking there is some good replayability as a decision made mid game changes the identity of the secondary antagonist and gives a different set of quests.
I apologize for the long review. There is just so much in this game. Dragon Age: Origins was a bold step for Bioware to establish themselves back into the fantasy RPG genre, and for the most part, it was well received.
Unfortunately, Dragon Age II stirred the franchise into a trope looking and playing too much like a typical 3rd person action console game. The player could only play as one predetermined male or female character and gameplay mechanics reeked too much like the Mass Effect series. However, Bioware finally decided to stir things up a bit with starting with character creation.
All race choices from DA: Origins return along with the newly added Qunari. Your race choice can actually reflect in the story and character s dialogue. As an added bonus, players can now choose from 2 very different male or female voices. They are fantastic! Open world environments, character models, texture meshes, spell effects, weapons and armor literally shine in detailed graphical beauty. But you immediately are side tracked by the visual splendor of the game as a whole.
There were many times where I was focused on one quest only to go off the beaten path because something cool is on the horizon or some event is taking place. And for a first time in a Dragon Age game, we are able to jump making traversing up hills over obstacles not a chore anymore.
While the game does play like DA: II and have a similar control scheme even on PC combat animations a very fluid and fantastic to be part of. So yes, in game, my frame rate never dropped below 60 FPS which resulted of combat gameplay that has never looked better in a Bioware game.
You can tell the effort to presenting this entry as a next gen RPG is apparent. Areas like the Storm Coast, the Hinterlands, and even your fortress of Skyhold literally have jaw dropping environment detail. I have never heard whippoorwills in a video game before and the Storm Coast made me feel like I was home.
I gave up on the bottom UI bar keyboard and mouse method and went straight for the XB controller set up. DA: Inquisition even after being patched still plays better with a controller, as much as I hate stating that.
Boo on Bioware for that. The tactical camera returns from Origins and ultimately it became something not utilized as much as Bioware intended. Something very annoying when fighting the end game dragons. The biggest portion that I will admit makes me not say that Inquisition is superior to Origins, is the story.
This resulted with a pretty forgettable story using cameos from previous entries as your only connection. For a Dragon Age game, this entry is literally ripe with side content. Your story can be completed with a hour session depending if you performed the appropriate level and Power grind. For some, it got tedious fast.
Even though I sounded harsh on my criticisms, I was still thoroughly enthused by Dragon Age: Inquisition. This huge time sink was worth the penny even after putting in 50 hours into it.
The optimistic part, I still have plenty side quests to complete and at least 4 more dragons to find and kill. Let us Dwarf Inquisitors romance Scout Harding! See all reviews. This game features a very in depth story and combat system. At first, the story and combat seem daunting, but after a half hour on Youtube, it has become a very enjoyable experience.
I have put past hours into the game, and I can say that it was almost all quality gameplay. The only complaint that I have about this game is that the co-op is lacking in my opinion, as the gameplay is quite bland, and there are so few players that you could wait up to 10 minutes for a full party.
Despite this, I would still rate it 5 stars overall. One person found this helpful. Why the hell did I buy this if I just gotta download pretty much the whole game anyways??

Both used game engines that were developed in-house by BioWare. Radars are out-of-place in a Medieval Fantasy Game. This icon is more suited for a Sci-Fi game. DAI had 11 patches! That is a lot and shows how DAI has many glitches. Because of the above four things, I was unable to in DAI. I want a more story focused game.
It really annoyed me when you accomplish a major world changing quest, and, afterwards, go into a town, and the town’s NPCs have nothing new to say. This made the towns feel dead and zombie-like. As another example: When you jail a villain, the Prison Guard still says she has no one to guard, despite a previously unoccupied jail cell now having the villain you had jailed. The Areas of DAI are vast. When entering a new area, it seemed ridiculous that you could explore it in one day.
Best of all, you could program multiple Tactics for the same companion. Although cumbersome to program, this made switching Tactics easy when facing different types of enemies. End of review. The Inquisition Symbol is a combination of the Illuminati Eye and Templar-like symbol a part of the Illuminati origins can be traced back to the Templars.
Funny thing is, this symbol is on a ‘card’, under a red crouching rogue with an upheld knife in his hand and with a smirk on his face. Was someone trying to say the Rothschilds are a bloody bunch of devious, sneaky, conniving, murderous thieves? Dragon Age: Inquisition. This game is very good. I will be reviewing this game for the PC as this is what I play it on. Value: Extremely good. I would wait for this to go on sale as it does fairly often. The Game of the Year Edition will give you the most value because it contains all of the DLC in addition to the full game.
But EVEN if you pay full price for this game you are getting your money’s worth. Not to mention you will want to play through it again That is because this game is huge and there is more than enough to do. Graphics: Amazing. I will say that on PC you will get the very best graphics but the difference on the PS and Xbox is negligible. Thedas come alive in front of you like you have never seen it before.
Story: I am primarily a single player gamer. So I am big on the story of a game. BioWare, as usual, does not disappoint.
The story pulls you in from the first few minutes until the very end. You will really feel a part of this one. The story changes slightly depending on your race and game choices as well!
Also you will want to do the DungeonKeeper story line on the Dragon Age website to make the story choices whether you played the last couple dragon ages or not. This is because the game world will change based on these choices.
Fans of the very technical team tactics will wish they could make more choices.
